Halloween Decor
Halloween wall hanging/table top decoration.
This started from a raw piece of pine tree harvested from a farm in Pennsylvania by a lumberjack.
I then began painting this project with red-orange acrylic paint highlighted with yellow to simulate the light of the full moon. I then drew my layout in pencil. Once that was to my liking, I started to apply the black acrylic paint. Building up the hill that the haunted house sits upon. Then I began to position the tree, the Jack-o’-lanterns, and the haunted house. Then I painted the yellow full moon high in the sky.
Then I started to add the accents such as the dead branches on the tree, the tall grass blowing in the wind, and the yellow in the Jack-o’-lanterns. Next was the windows in the haunted house with the door slightly ajar. After that I added the black cat sitting upon the Jack-o’-lanterns with devious glowing yellow eyes.
Then came the final touches such as the window panes, more swaying grass, and a few more eerie branches on the tree.
I bought a raw wooden Happy Halloween sign, painted it orange, and covered it in orange glitter for an accent piece and affixed it to the painting. I then finished up with a black border to bring the whole piece together.
I sealed it with matte Rust-Oleum spray, attached a saw tooth hanger to the back, and then signed it.
